We enjoyed Anna Imhof’s profile in the FT this weekend. The piece raised important questions including is her work trying to conjure “capitalist hell”, “liquid hell” or a “visual representation of hell?” But scroll to the comments (20 in total, which is a lot for an art-related article in the pink paper not about Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst or NFTs) and find yourself introduced to gonzo journalist Iain Morse who relays his experience taking photographs of Eliza Douglas on his ‘mobile phone camera’ while comparing Imhof’s expression to ‘looking as if suffering from trapped Gefangener [prisoner] wind’ and cajoling Tate’s ex-head Nicolas Serota to add that the work is ‘over produced’. Eddy Frankel, watch out!
