🔑 “As an artist, you also crave hype and recognition” – all the girlies have been reading it… now it’s your turn. Ana Viktoria Dzinc’s profile in 032c feels appropriately authentic. As she explains to Claire Koron Elat, her work is inflected with a visual language found predominantly online, in advertising and embedded in algorithms. Consider our desire: manufactured x
🏰 “Orgies - a Tool of Witchcraft” – Halloween is over but have you still got more spook to give? Did you go to Lewes at the weekend and fall in love with all things folk? Don’t fear! NTS are here with an hour-long occult folk mix, the perfect soundtrack for these long autumn nights.
📁 “The archives are energetically charged” – Legendary LA-based artist Guadalupe Rosales discusses de-sterilizing the archive, sonic memories and lowrider culture for Mousse, focusing on Map Pointz - the artist’s Instagram archive diving into the 90s LA backyard party scene - and we’re suffering from a serious case of fomostalgia.
🍷 Art vs fashion: which crowd sucks less? – friend of the ‘sletter Olivia Allen asks who is worse, fashionistas or gallerinas, for Plaster. ‘It’s impossible to tell when the art person is on or off the clock’ she says, ‘there’s a sense of social exclusivity that comes from never spelling it out and a need to be seen by people in the know.’ #sotrue
💅🏻 “escapism meets foodie inspo meets cosplay meets mukbang meets ASMR meets comedy” – Drawing nefariously from internet culture, 2girls1bottl3, aka Mixie and Munchie, are a TikTok phenomenon. Described by Nicolaia Rips as ‘a new kind of Hyper-pop performance artist’ their nonsensical videos, which feature them mixing sugary-sweet cocktails in various locations, have amassed a huge viewership, along with intense speculation about their identity. We are equally as obsessed with the styling/set for the accompanying shoot - encompassing the ‘performative plasticity’ of their content <3

“Sorry, wrong person!”— Lucas Zwirner
Nate Freeman’s article on the Artforum debacle, open letters and the subsequent firing storm laid the whole situation out in clear decision-by-decision terms. Freeman ultimately asks the question most of us have been thinking:
“How can the magazine continue without its contributors, its artists to make the covers, its cultural giants to fill magazine pages with their opinions, its freelancers to populate the website with content?”
One section surprised us… Turns out Lucas Zwirner accidentally messaged a mysterious, unnamed Amalia, instead of dealer Amalia Dyan, casually mentioning his intention to pull all ads from the square-shaped monthly tome.
Girlies, it’s front desk rule no.1: make sure you double – *triple* – check those ‘cc and ‘bcc lines before firing off catty messages (or you might – for the wrong reasons – make it into Vanity Fair)!!!!
