Parting Shot
Galleries across the globe were dismayed last week to find that their artist’s work had been uploaded to Digital Basel, a new platform claiming to offer collectors the chance to discover new artists (a la artsy) and, crucially, purchase unique digital replicas of artworks… The OG Basel obviously hit back at their new, NFT pedalling cousin, and encouraged galleries to also complain. Confused? fear not, Digital Basel have provided a dramatic, strongly-worded timeline of what went down on their website, describing real Basel’s actions as “a coordinated assault”. We’ll take one Anselm Kiefer “Unique Digital Twin,” please!
